Our Boiler Installation Process
Before we install:
- We complete an assessment of your mains water to understand if a scale reducer is needed to protect your new boiler from the formation of limescale.
- We assess the flow rate of your mains water and the number of radiators you have, to ensure your new boiler will be powerful enough to meet your needs without being oversized, so it isn’t costing you more money to run than necessary.
- Carry out testing on the water in your existing heating system and dependant of the results carry out a chemical or power flush of your heating pipes and radiators. This not only protects your new boiler but also ensures maximum efficiency of your heating system.
- Survey your existing gas pipe to ensure it meets the requirements of your new boiler.
- Discuss with you room stats and boiler controls to ensure you are happy with the location and also the type. We are happy to install NEST or HIVE but have several other options we can discuss with you.
- We provide you with a free written quotation so you can be clear of the cost and confident it will not change.
When Installing:
- We fit a magnetic filter onto the heating system. The filter protects your new boiler for years to come.
- We fit an arrestor to the cold water feed to protect your boiler against water hammer.
- Inhibitor is added to the central heating water to protect the total system against corrosion.
Once installed:
- We fully commission the boiler.
- We register your new boiler with building regs.
- We register the guarantee with the manufacturer.
- You simply enjoy your new boiler. We take care of the admin.
You will be required to have your boiler serviced once per year to maintain your warranty. You are free to have it serviced with any company, provided they are Gas Safe registered but of course we hope you choose to continue using Christopher G Smith.
